Justice League movie?

Since Man of Steel was out, people have been babbling about a Justice League movie, and I, like most of them, am excited for a movie like this one. To be honest, even though DC gave us some good movies, like The Dark Knight Trilogy and Watchmen, after Superman Returns and Green Lantern, fans have been worried that DC and Warner Bros. are going to disappoint again. However, after a successful Man of Steel, I guess we all reconsidered. And, as you guys should know, DC have already announced a Justice League movie to be out around 2015.

Since everything so far are speculations and rumors, and reports from Latino Reviews, the main subjects we can talk about are the super heroes who are going to appear in the movies, the super villains, and the main storylines.

To start with, we can say that Henry Cavill’s Superman is the super hero who’s most expected to return for the Justice League movie. And here’s what the actor stated about the subject:

“Justice League–more movies, I have no idea. Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC Comics heroes are all godlike in their power so in the real-world setting we’re telling our story in it’s going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately and a lot of thought. So it won’t be right away, certainly not, or I hope not anyway. It may take some time building other movies and other characters and then introduce them together in one way or another.”

Christian Bale is a long-shot, since Nolan is currently working on his Interstellar movie (2014), and because the Batman movies reboot will start around 2017. Hence, the Batman used in Justice League will probably be the 2017 Batman, and not Nolan’s Dark Knight. Besides, Joseph Gordon Levitt has repeatedly denied his involvement in Justice League, despite what some rumors may say

The Flash and Wonder Woman will probably need their own movies, so their characters in Justice League will have their back round stories, to avoid any lapses in the storyline.

Now, what about Green Lantern? Will they use the 2011 movie? God I hope not. I’d personally ask for a reboot before the Justice League movie, however, they can give Green Lantern what Marvel gave Hulk. He can be featured in Justice League, and then have his own stand-alones. And I still think that Ryan Reynolds is a good candidate, and that he can give more in a better crafted movie.

The movie will probably feature these five superheroes as the main characters, but may also give us cameo appearances of Martian Manhunter and Aquaman.

ImageDarkseid: “I hope you appreciate, Kal-EL, that everything that happens from this point is on your head. The skies will rain fire, the oceans will boil, the streets will run red with the blood of billions. Only then, after your last pitiful hope is extinguished, will I end your life. Let’s go!”

Even though it was reported that the studio had actually hired Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall to pen a draft of Justice League back in 2011, all we know about the plot is what Latino Review has given us, and that the storyline will be based on the Apokolips/Darkseid comic book arc, and thus setting Darkseid as our main antagonist. Now, if that’s true, then we can say good bye to Nolan’s Batman, because the movie would be set in a less realistic universe, with other realms and races, just like The Avengers.

That all sounds really promising, but as I said, everything said so far is only speculation and rumors, no matter how trusted the sources are. We didn’t see anything like Nick Furry talking about the Avengers in Man of Steel, so DC haven’t promised us anything yet. But, if they are going to make our wishes come true, then I seriously hope they’ll take their time and not jump into anything and giving us another Green Lantern. Let’s hope for the best now, shall we?

    1. Usually yeah. But Man of Steel did surprise me.
Marvel are more suitable for children, DC movies like Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy, and Watchmen require a certain level of maturity.
