Jupiter Ascending (2015)

It’s been downhill for the Wachowskis after The Matrix Trilogy, and fans have spent a decade waiting for the siblings’ retribution, but it’s sadly not here yet. In their latest work, Jupiter Ascending, the two directors try so hard to reclaim their days of glory; they fall short on almost everything they were intending to achieve. Continue reading

What We Do in The Shadows (2014)

This year, from the shadow of the Oscar nominated movies and the summer blockbusters emerged a film that would outwit and outdo the majority of those works to become the most pleasant surprise of 2014, and one of its best movies. What We Do in the Shadows, a New Zealand film, is here to charm, impress and entertain us in a fairly original way. Continue reading

Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)

2014 has seen some pretty decent movies, especially sci-fi flicks, but was nonetheless a rough year for comedy. Continue reading

The Maze Runner (2014)

As summer flicks come and go, some are hated, some are loved, and some just don’t leave a strong enough impression to be remembered. The Maze Runner is the latter. It’s not the disaster I first expected it to be, but it’s not as good as the feedback it’s been getting either. Whether you enjoy it or hate it depends on whether or not you’re a fan of dystopian, arena-like movies. Continue reading

Begin Again (2013)

The man who brought us the Oscar winner Once eight years ago is back with another musical drama, only this time, he adds a taste or two of comedy. Begin Again is a funny down-to-earth musical that doesn’t have to apologize for being the simple and delightful movie it is, even during the time of year where blockbusters are all over the place. Continue reading
